Dearborn Schools Business Services Director Killed in Monday Morning Homicide

Two suspects are now in custody in connection with the early morning beating death of Dearborn Public Schools Director of Business Services and Farmington Hills resident Robert Cipriano.

Police announced the arrest of son Tucker Robert Cipriano at around 8:40 a.m. Monday morning.

Dearborn Public Schools district spokesman David Mustonen said that in the DPS Administrative Services Building where Robert (Bob) Cipriano worked, "we met with staff just to make sure everyone knew the details.

"Our counselors are here and will be here all day," added Mustonen, who said there were not plans to shut down any parts of the district. "If there are staff here who need to go home, that’s fine. There were people here who worked with Bob every day."

Cipriano's wife and 17-year-old son were also critically injured in the incident, which occurred on Rose Hill Drive, in the 11 Mile and Orchard Lake Road area of Farmington Hills.

WDIV-TV reports that the victims, a 51-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man, were severely beaten.

According to a news release issued by Farmington Hills Police around 6 a.m., authorities were called to a home on Rose Hill Drive at 2:50 a.m., where they found one man dead, and another man and woman injured. The injured victims were taken to .

Police took one suspect into custody early this morning and spent several hours looking for Cipriano, described as 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, with black hair and green eyes. Police said he may have been driving a blue 2002 Ford Ranger pickup, with plate number CHG7962.

Police Chief Chuck Nebus told reporters this morning that Cipriano may have left the area, and WJBK-TV Fox 2 Detroit reports he was located in the Keego Harbor area.

A lockdown was placed on four Farmington Hills schools while police searched for Cipriano, but was lifted as of 9 a.m., district spokesperson Diane Bauman confirmed.
