Motorcyclist Collides with Ice Cream Truck Driver Near Dix Avenue

A motorcycle and car were both involved in traffic accidents on Saturday afternoon.

The Dearborn Police Traffic Services Division is investigating the cause of an accident between a motorcyclist and ice cream truck driver that occurred near Amazon Street and Dix Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

Dearborn Police told the Detroit News that a 47-year-old ice cream truck operator from River Rouge exited his truck to pass out ice cream around 6 p.m. when he was struck by the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. Both men were taken to Oakwood Hospital and are being treated for serious injuries.

A second accident involving a vehicle rollover occurred at Dix Avenue and Dale Place. The cause of the accident is unknown.
