Autistic Teenager Missing from Dearborn Residence

Charles Foster has been missing from his home since Saturday.

Charles Foster, a 16-year-old autistic boy, has been missing from his home in Dearborn since Saturday.

According to police, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Sept. 7, officers were dispatched to a home in the 4600 block of Schlaff on a missing juvenile report.

Charles' parents were awakened by a noise inside their home and observed their son exiting the front door of the home. The parents were unable to catch Charles as he ran northbound from the home.

Charles is a black male, with short hair and wears small frame glasses. He is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds and appears much younger than his age.

Charles suffers from Autism, bi-polar disorder and mood swings, according to police. He was last seen wearing a beige, collared short sleeve shirt with horizontal stripes, dark shoes and glasses.

The family does not believe Charles is a harm to himself or others. His parents said he has a history of running away and will frequent restaurants, gas stations or will beg for food.

Anyone who may see Charles should call 911 for police assistance or call 313-943-2241 to speak with the Dearborn Police Department.
