About Colette

I will be celebrating my 15th year living in Dearborn this summer. I grew up in Northville and have lived in San Diego, California for nearly 5 years in my early 20's with a temperary move to Westfield, Massachusetts in the middle. I moved back to Michigan at the end of 1993 and have been back here ever since.

I was in retail management for well over 10 years and have been self employed for the last 14 years and am now working for the Dearborn School District.

My first passion is special education as I have a child with special needs.  I am a parent advocate and I serve on the Wayne County Parent Advisory Committee for the Dearborn School District.

I am a member of the Dearborn Rotary Club and also serve on the Board of Directors as Membership Director.  I was recently elected to a third term that will start in July.

I am serving my 5th year on the Dearborn Relay For Life Planning Committee and my 6th year as a Team Captain.  I have served in the positions of Chair person of the entire event, Team Development, Advocacy Chair, Sponsorship Chair and Accounting Chair.

I am a member of the City Beautiful Commission for the City of Dearborn.  I have been on this commission since Feb of 2010.

My second passion is for politics.  I have worked on 5 campaigns in the last 4 years.  From knocking on doors to setting up poll workers and running an office and to managing a campaign, I have pretty much delved into all of it.  It helps when the candidates you are working for and with are hard working individuals who really care for the city and schools.
