ReplyI'm sorry, I'm NOT a smoker and wouldn't even be interested in going to a sports bar if they had one (even in an enclosed area). They need an original idea....not one that you can get elsewhere. My sports bar will still be Buffalo Wild Wings. Will not be visiting there when it opens.

I'd go for that idea too!! small craft brews that are made in Michigan, plus certain seasonal foods that are produced in Michigan. LOVE IT!

ReplyWhat I can't understand is Why Dearborn Govt. thinks it's theirs?? I remember this on the ballot and remember reading for the DIA and Zoo. NOW, had Dearborn's name been there as well I would have voted the proposal down. I didn't see Dearborn in any of the commercials running on tv before election time promoting this ballot proposal. I want the Zoo and DIA to get all the tax due to them from this proposal....not other cities in Wayne county. Hell, I don't even want Detroit to get any of this earmarked money either!! It's just another reason why I'm not going to vote for the mayor or some of the other city official next election. **just shakes her her in disapproval**

On the article Conversation Reopened on Moving Dearborn's Arab International Festival

ReplyI support the move too. I just live one block off of Warren and I didn't go to the festival last year because I was disillusioned with the festival from 2011, with all the protesters and yelling back and forth (profanities). I want to go and have fun...not listen to a loud bullhorn denouncing another religion. If it stays on Warren this year, I decided I'm not going, and might even leave town to do something else that weekend.

On the article City of Dearborn Seeks Final Input on Train Station District Design

ReplyMy god, why do they have to make it so complicated?! It's a train station for godsakes!! All you need is the station, a parking lot, maybe a taxi pick-up point and a bus stop. Everything else sounds nice, but more money.

It's too bad that I see/read all this hatred towards this festival. I'm a non-Arab that enjoyed going to the initial first 3 festivals. The first few festivals had culture, Music, food (more than in the past years), jewelry and clothes. I missed seeing the henna tattoos, Turkish coffee, the Turkish tent they had set up. What they (organizers) need is to get more of the businesses together. I would rather have at the festival, art, music, culture, history of the different lands, and a variety of different foods...not just shish-kakob and sharma. They really don't need any.... stressing...ANY(on both sides), religious aspect to this festival. And get rid of the many corporate tents (FBI, CIA, Verizon, etc.) that I've seen in the past few years, only the ones that are the official sponsors of the event should have a presence there. All I can say now is good luck to the future...hope it works.
