Registration Open for Dearborn Summer School
Dearborn students who need extra study–or credit recovery–have some options in summer school.
School is typically the last thing students want to think about during the balmy summer months, but for students in need of additional instruction, or need to make up for failed classes, summer school can be a godsend. Dearborn Public Schools officials announced the district's 2012 summer school offerings Monday night at the Dearborn Board of Education meeting, and according to Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Instruction, there are a lot of options. “Most of the time, high school students enroll in summer school to make up credits,” she said. “For younger children, it’s often about needing help with a particular subject.” This year, about 475 elementary school students are expected to enroll, Chockol said. I hope Summer School tuition is no longer subsidized through ACCESS with money meant for training and educating those who want to learn as opposed to those who are in Summer School because they chose not to learn.   more ›
