Roundhouse BBQ in Trenton took top honors in Food Fight poll.
The people have spoken: Roundhouse BBQ is the best place for barbecue in southeastern Michigan. Roundhouse BBQ, located on 2760 W Jefferson Ave. in Trenton, received 42 percent of the vote in the Food Fight poll. Slow’s Bar-B-Q, located on 2138 Michigan Ave. in Detroit, finished second with 37 percent of the vote. Bad Brad’s BBQ in New Baltimore was third with 14 percent, and Pit Master Barbeque was fourth with five percent. Voting took place from Wednesday morning until Friday at 5 p.m. Congratulations, Roundhouse BBQ, and thank you to all who participated in the Food Fight by voting in the poll and leaving comments on the site. Lafayette Coney Island prevails in Food Fight poll.
Lafayette Coney Island proved to be the top dog in this week’s Food Fight poll. Patch users said Lafayette Coney Island is the best place for coneys in Wayne County, receiving 33 percent of the vote in the Food Fight poll. Zorba’s Coney Island was second with 29 percent, American Coney Island was third with 21 percent and Senate Coney Island was fourth with 15 percent. Wyandotte restaurant wins voting in the Food Fight poll.
The people have spoken: Michelangelo’s Italian Bistro has the best pasta in Wayne County. Michelangelo’s Italian Bistro, located at 152 Elm St. in Wyandotte, received 72 percent of the vote in the Food Fight poll. Antonio’s Cucina Italia was second with 21 percent, Gregorio's was third with 4 percent, and Deliziosa was fourth with 2 percent. The local catering company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new cafe Friday afternoon.
Chef Gourmet Catering Company on Friday celebrated the opening of their first-ever cafe, located on Southfield Road in Allen Park. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by members of the Allen Park Chamber of Commerce and City Council, as well as newly elected Mayor William Matakas. Open since 2002 as a company serving corporate and private events, this new venture is the company’s first attempt at catching diners from local businesses, including Ford Motor Company employees looking for a lunch spot during the work week. The restaurant, which serves upscale sandwiches and salads, is already a hit among the lunch crowd, said owner Deanna Myers. “We were packed at lunch today,” she said at the late afternoon ribbon-cutting, noting that …
