Sacred Heart Priest Suspended Following Drunk Driving, Indecent Exposure Charges

The Archdiocese of Detroit has placed the Rev. Peter Petroske of Sacred Heart Parish on administrative leave after he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of drunken driving and indecent exposure.

DETRIOT, MI -- The Archdiocese of Detroit has suspended a local priest following his arrest on drunken driving and indecent exposure charges. The Rev. Peter Petroske, a priest at Sacred Heart Parish in Dearborn, was placed on administrative leave on Monday, according to a statement from the archdiocese. Dearborn police arrested Petroske on Thursday, Aug. 2, for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and indecent exposure, the archdiocese said. He was alone in his vehicle. According to the Detroit News, the Archdiocese confirmed that Petroske was naked when police pulled him over. Crime Report: Vandalism at Dearborn Sacred Heart Church

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A clear case of vandalism was discovered at a Dearborn church this week, according to Dearborn police reports. An employee of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish arrived at the church Sunday morning after locking up at 11 p.m. the night prior to find the entire Parish Hall in disarray. The employee called police to report the act, but no suspect was named. In the main room, kitchen supplies had been strewn about, including utensils, toothpicks, straws and cups. All drawers and cupboards were open and the contents thrown on the floor. Further down the hall, toilet paper was hanging from the door knobs and tape had been stuck to the walls. Someone had written an obscene message on a water fountain with blue ink. In the library, books were thrown …
