The work of Monte Nagler will be at the Padzieski Gallery through March 29.
The work of Farmington Hills-based photographer Monte Nagler can be found in the Detroit Institute of Arts; the University of Michigan Museum of Art; the Grand Rapids Art Museum; Ford Motor Company—and through March 29, also in Dearborn's Padzieski Art Gallery. An exhibition of select color and black and white photographs by Nagler opened Feb. 20 in the gallery, which is located inside of the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. All works are for sale. Nagler is known for his high-contrast landscapes of everywhere from Northern Michigan to Italy. The show includes photographic work from a variety of Michigan artists.
Everything from the Taj Mahal to a wintry scene in Hines Park can be seen in this year's Juried Photography Exhibition, taking place through Feb. 15 at the Padzieski Art Gallery. The gallery is located within the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center at 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. A total of 140 entries were received for the show, 92 of which are posted in the gallery. The entries include black and white, color and digitally enhanced photographs. According to Dearborn Community Arts Council Director Stella Greene, photos were submitted by everyone from seasoned photographic artists to first-time camera users. Members of the Artist Society of Dearborn will pair off with would-be artists for two hours outdoors to work, teach and mentor even the beginning art participant on Sunday, June 17. Participants will meet at 3 p.m. in the Padzieski Art Gallery inside the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center to tour the Artists Society of Dearborn’s exhibit. The center is located at 15801 Michigan Ave. Budding artists and their accomplished artist mentors will then move outdoors for an individual working session. Works by Ann Arbor artist Joseph Bergman will be available for viewing through April 13.
Meanings Optional–an art show of drawings, paper works and digital prints by Ann Arbor artist Joseph Bergman–closes April 13 at Dearborn's Padzieski Art Gallery after a monthlong run. The show has been brought to the gallery, which is located inside of the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, by the Dearborn Community Arts Council. According to a previous showing of similar works by Bergman at the Chelsea Center for the Arts, the artist "goes through a methodical process of accumulating images and materials, breaking them down and modifying the bits to be used, ordering the elements, and finally organizing, and resolving his compositions."
