Photo Gallery: Dearborn Police Spread Love of Reading to Youth
Officers read to classrooms at Salina Elementary on Tuesday for National Reading Month.
March is National Reading Month, and Dearborn's police department wasn't going to let that go unnoticed. On Tuesday afternoon, nine officers from the department's East and West Border Crime Units came together to read to students at Salina Elementary. Officers read such books as Pirates Go To School, You With Me and The Brand New Kid to kindergarten through third grade classes–and even took the time to answer some questions about their jobs fighting crime in Dearborn. The officers that participated included Sgt. Issa Shahin, Sgt. Dave Marshall, Cpl. Russ Faith, Cpl. Chris Taite, Cpl. Duane Niedzwiecki, Cpl. Lee Willmuth, Cpl. William Anhut, Cpl.
