After a career that included teaching and serving as an assistant principal within the Catholic system, Melissa Lambrecht has achieved her dream of heading up a school.

Lambrecht, who has taught for 17 years, said she’s excited to bring her skills and faith to Sacred Heart, which educates more than 200 preschool through eighth-graders. “I’m really happy to be here,” she said. “I hope to continue the proud tradition here and continue to provide students with an excellent, Catholic-based education." With more than 20 years in the classroom at several Christian schools, Randy Hazenberg is busy organizing his goals–and his hopes–as the Dearborn school's new principal.
Name: Randy Hazenberg Age: 50 School: Principal/administrator at Dearborn Christian School Background: For Randy Hazenberg, the prospect of helming the 60-student Dearborn Christian School on Donaldson was not one he went looking for, but is one that is a blessing nonetheless. Hazenberg, who comes to the school from Borculo Christian School in Zeeland, will be the first new principal at DCS in more than 27 years. Originally from California, Hazenberg holds a bachelor’s degree in art and physical education from Calvin College in Grand Rapids. “I was out (of school) for a little while to see what direction God was going to take me in, and then I went back to Calvin College for a year to earn a teaching certificate,” he said. I remember working with Mr. Hartley while my daughter attended Bryant last year and he was a very involved vice principal. I don't believe there was any after school event in which he was not present. DuVall is getting a quality person and I have no doubt his efforts in his new position will show.. more ›
