Dearborn Appoints New Fire Chief

Previous Chief Richard Miller left the post in February.

A five-month search for the new chief of the Dearborn Fire Department has ended. Firefighter II Joseph Murray has been appointed to the position, the firefighters union announced on its Facebook page Monday evening. "Congratulations to FFII Joe Murray on his appointment to Chief of the Dearborn Fire Department," the post read. "We look forward to working with you in your new capacity." Murray, who has been with Dearborn's Fire Department for seven years, has a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science & Occupational Safety and Health (Madonna University) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Madonna University); a Master's Degree in Business Administration (Madonna University); and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University, …
