Iversen's Bakery Express Celebrates Grand Opening

Dearborn's newest bakery invited guests for free treats for its ribbon cutting Tuesday morning.

Iversen's Bakery Express in Dearborn held its grand opening on Tuesday morning. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by members of the community, as well as several members of City Council, Mayor Jack O'Reilly, the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce and state Rep. George Darany. The event included free samples from the shop, which officially opened on Oct. 3. Follow Iversen's Express on Twitter, or "like" them on Facebook.

Iversen's Express Opens for Business

The Dearborn bakery's new location offers freshly baked treats, as well as a make-your-own-cupcake bar.

A new location has meant a chance to revamp their image for the Lesnock family, owners of Iversen's Bakery on Outer Drive–and now, of the new Iversen's Express, which opened on Monday at 22441 Michigan Ave. Though the opening was a week later than they hoped, Erica Lesnock said business was already beginning to trickle in Monday morning. With the bakery's one-of-a-kind offerings, it's easy to see why. Traditional favorites such as Bear Claws and cakes are available–but visitors to the bakery will notice Yummy Cups–portable versions of the bakery's famous tortes–as well as a unique "bar" in the bakery that gives hungry shoppers the opportunity to make each treat their own creation. Iversen's Bakery Preps for Opening of New Express Location

Iversen's Express of Dearborn will serve up freshly baked brownies, cookies, breakfast treats and more starting Sept. 26.

Update, Sept. 22: Iversen's management has told Patch that the scheduled Monday opening of their express location has been delayed. They expect the opening to take place next week, but do not know the exact day.
