5 Ways to Honor Earth Day in Dearborn

Events, places to donate, green spaces to check out–Dearborn has plenty of ways to get green this Sunday.

Sunday is Earth Day–but how are you going to celebrate? Here's a look at some great green events and ideas happening in Dearborn: Once upon a time, the Rouge River caught on fire. This Earth Day, learn about efforts to save this and other polluted rivers. At the Henry Ford Centennial Library, Dr. John Hartig will give a presentation on his award-winning book titled Burning Rivers: Revival of Four Urban-Industrial Rivers that Caught on Fire. The free talk starts at 3 p.m. Eat good food and save the earth simultaneously. This event, hosted at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, will be held April 21 at 9 a.m. Funds raised will go to support children’s outdoor environmental education. An entrance fee of $5 gets you a meal of pancakes topped …
