Frozen Yogurt Shop Set to Open this Fall in Downtown Dearborn

Yogurtown will follow the self-serve model growing in popularity throughout the country.

Gone are the days of telling someone else how you like your ice cream. At least that’s the business model behind Yogurtown, a frozen yogurt shop set to open on Michigan Avenue in west downtown Dearborn this fall. Owner Celia Nasser explained that she and her husband–southeast Michigan natives–recently spent time living in Arizona before moving to Dearborn. While there, they saw a trend they wanted to be a part of. “Self-serve yogurt had just exploded out there,” she said of their trip to a shop down south. “We counted 60 people that came in and out and right away, we knew we wanted to have one of these.” They also knew they wanted to open up shop in their home state. “We wanted to be around family and friends,” she added.
