PHOTOS: Fordson Football Shuts Out Dearborn High

The Tractors won the rivalry game over Dearborn High School 35-0 on Friday night.

Fordson shut out Dearborn 35-0 in the annual rivalry between the two high school football teams on Friday night. With the victory, Fordson improved its record to 4-1 overall. The Tractors play at Edsel Ford on Sept. 28. Dearborn is 2-3 overall. The Pioneers host Wyoming on Sept. 28.

Fordson Football Falls to Monroe

But Edsel Ford and Divine Child prevail in final week of regular season.

Fordson lost to Monroe 21-7 on Friday night in the final regular-season home game, according to the MHSAA. Fordson finished the regular season with a 5-4 overall record. Fordson needed a victory to qualify for the state playoffs. Meanwhile, Edsel Ford defeated Garden City 28-18. The Thunderbirds finished with a 4-5 overall record. Divine Child also prevailed in its finale, defeating Detroit Consortium 35-12. The Falcons are 4-4 overall.

the refs gave that game to Monroe. So many bad holding penalties on Fordson in the first half, not to mention a live fumble that fordson recovered was ruled dead. And how about that pass interferance as time was expiring in the first half-yea-no call! It was the worst officiated game I've ever seen. Great job refs. If I ever felt discrimination in my life as an Arab American it was tonight.   more ›

Fordson Football Blanks Crestwood in 40-0 Victory

Tractors bounce back from opening week setback with 40-0 triumph over Crestwood on Friday.

The Fordson High School football team redeemed itself after last week’s downfall against Detroit Catholic Central by dominating Dearborn Heights Crestwood 40-0 on Friday. The Chargers, who are now 0-2, were short-handed with 25 players compared to the roster-heavy Tractors, who have 61 players. The 36-man advantage gave the Tractors an upper hand in the game, according to Chargers’ head coach Aaron Moran. “They’ve got 60 guys we’ve got 25,” Moran said. “They’re a lot bigger than we are and when you’re banging and banging and banging your smaller guys tire down quickly and that’s what happened after a while.” Fordson took the early lead with a touchdown by quarterback Dominic Mathews just a minute into the opening period.
