Dearborn held its annual tree-lighting ceremony on Tuesday in conjunction with the Festival of Trees—a fundraiser for the Children's Hospital of Michigan. The event, attended by many residents of the Dearborn area, was held at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. In addition to the tree lighting, it included crafts for kids, a chance to visit with Santa, a sing-along, and live performances by Dearborn youth. The City of Dearborn will get residents in the holiday spirit this week with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Sing-Along at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, planned for 6-9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The festivities are being held in conjunction with the Festival of Trees, which is a fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation. There is no admission to this holiday fundraiser for those attending the tree lighting on Nov. 20. Ceremony Schedule Theater Program All are welcome. For more information, call 313-943-2354. The annual fundraiser for the Children's Hospital of Michigan will include a black-tie gala, brunch with Santa, community tree-lighting and more.
The Festival of Trees returns to Dearborn this month, and organizers are preparing for another evening of wowing the community, and raising funds for the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation. Every year, hundreds of people from Dearborn and beyond come out to lend their time, support and money to the Festival of Trees. Christmas trees, gingerbread houses, wreaths and stockings are custom decorated and showcased in the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, and are available for purchase and gifting. This year's event runs Nov. 20-27, with a preview party held on Nov. 19, community tree-lighting ceremony and sing-along on Nov. 22, and Brunch With Santa on Nov. 26.
