Parents Rally to Get Edsel Ford Basketball Coach His Job Back

Ibrahim Baydoun has agreed to a new contract with school administrators for the 2013-2014 season.

A group of parents thanked the Dearborn Public Schools Board of Education on Monday for saving the job of a basketball coach who they said changed their children's lives. Ibrahim Baydoun was reinstated as varsity basketball coach at Edsel Ford High School for the 2013-2014 academic year after being unexpectedly removed from his position last week. Baydoun was one of three candidates that went before a committee appointed by Edsel Ford Principal Scott Casebolt to apply for the position on May 9. The school declined to comment on why the committee voted to replace Baydoun after more than a decade of leading the program. News of Baydoun's termination was posted on the Dearborn Area Community Members Facebook page, sparking an online uproar …

CMG, Well put! The parents that rallied must have been the ones that never even attend the games. It just sounded like a good reason to get out and see how much noise they can make to get their way on yet another topic. It's time non Arabic family take a stand for what they believe is right. They have to start making some noise of their own. They can't continue to just complain to each other and …   more ›

Dearborn's Edsel Ford High School to Present 'Babes In Arms'

The musical will take place April 18-20 at the Edsel Ford High School auditorium.

By Leslie Herrick Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart's classic musical Babes in Arms will take over the stage at Edsel Ford High School at 7 p.m., April 18-20. The plot follows a group of young theater apprentices and their conviction to mount the original revue they've created while dodging the underhanded attempts of the surly theater owner to squash their efforts at every turn. Further complications are provided by the overbearing stage mother of a beautiful ex-child star and the inflated ego of a southern playwright. But of course the show must go on, and so it does in a resolution of comeuppance, reconciliation, and romance. The EFHS Performing Arts Department will present this classic musical, which has an appeal for all ages. Students …
