Dearborn Students Chop Locks to Help Cancer Patients
DuVall Elementary participated in the Beautiful Lengths challenge this week, asking students, staff and community members to donate hair for wigs.
Dearborn's DuVall Elementary School went to great lengths on Wednesday to help people battling cancer. Specifically, eight inches or more. Multiple students–as well as several community members, parents, and one teacher–agreed to cut off their hair to be donated to create wigs for women going through cancer treatment. The effort–part of the Pantene charity Beautiful Lengths–was coordinated through the school's Do-Vall Club, which focuses on organizing community service efforts that help the school and greater community. I remember working with Mr. Hartley while my daughter attended Bryant last year and he was a very involved vice principal. I don't believe there was any after school event in which he was not present. DuVall is getting a quality person and I have no doubt his efforts in his new position will show..   more ›
