The Dearborn Relay for Life fundraiser takes place this weekend at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. More than 400 people are registered to be part of the event.  If you're participating this year, or just stopping by to visit with teams and friends, take photos or video clips and share them in this gallery. Take a Look at Today's Dearborn Relay for Life Schedule

Family-friendly games and activities will take place on Aug. 27-28 during the annual American Cancer Society fundraiser.

The Dearborn Relay for Life takes place today behind the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. Event organizers promise a full day of activities and games for families and relay teams, beginning with the opening ceremony celebrating survivors and caregivers at 10 a.m. Want to participate in a scavenger hunt? Stop by the relay stage around 2:30 p.m. A free Zumba class will take place at the relay stage at 4 p.m. for fitness fans looking to get in shape. Do you want to watch the mayor and other Dearborn officials participate in a pie-throwing contest? Check in with Team Dearborn's campsite at 4 p.m. Throughout the afternoon, various campsites and vendors will offer food for sale, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society. To …

Dearborn Relay for Life Organizers Seek Volunteers

The fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will take place April 27 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.

In a few weeks, the track at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center soccer field will be filled with cancer survivors raising money and awareness for a well-known cause: The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Plans are already underway in Dearborn for the relay, set for April 27-28. Volunteers are needed to pull off the event, with a goal of $100,000, according to event chairwoman Alysia Schuler. "Relay is going great this year. We’ve exceed our team goal for a total of 49 teams. We’ve also exceeded our sponsorship goal and raised more than $22,500," she said. Dearborn Family Losing Mom to Cancer—Here's How You Can Help

A fellow parent is collecting monetary and other donations through Dec. 20.

A Dearborn family is going through a tragic ordeal, and other local parents are reaching out to the community for help. Dearborn parent and Relay For Life liaison Alysia Schuler shared that Nikki Cannizzaro, a wife and mother of four, "is nearing the end of her three-year cancer battle." "Losing a mother and wife is hard enough, but at Christmas, we could never imagine the pain and sadness they will endure this season," Schuler said. As such, Schuler is helping to connect donations for the Cannizzaro family—both monetary and otherwise. Specifically, they're looking for: Donations should be dropped off or mailed to Snow Elementary, but must be there by Thursday, Dec. 20. Get Ready for Relay with Thursday Open House in Dearborn

Relay for Life 2013 planning is already under way. Here's how to get involved.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Dearborn is hosting an Informational Open House at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6-8 p.m. The meeting will take place in Club Room No. 1 Although the Relay For Life of Dearborn is more than six months away, now is the time to get involved. Residents are invited to attend the open house to learn more about the 2013 Relay For Life and how they can become part of the overnight event that aims to raise funds for less cancer and more birthdays. Relay For Life is the ACS signature event, dedicated to increasing awareness and raising funds to fight cancer.
