Dearborn Makes Its Mark at the Presidential Inauguration

Far away in Washington, D.C., traces of Dearborn could be found during inauguration week.

Dearborn is just one little American city of less than 100,000 people—so how could it be so prominent during the inauguration of the president of the United States? Dearborn resident and Patch blogger Fred Hoffman shares his first-hand look at the inaugural events on Patch today, and found plenty to remind him of home. That included a Ford Motor Company party, as well as the Michigan Inaugural Ball, which was hosted by Dearborn resident and wife of Congressman John Dingell, Debbie Dingell. Performing at the event was the Henry Ford Community College Big Band, and several other Dearborn residents were in attendance.
