City's New Supermarket, Dearborn Fresh, Opens for Business
Dearborn Fresh opened for business Monday amidst hundreds of community members and leaders.
Dearborn was looking for a taste of something new, and they got it with the opening of Dearborn Fresh supermarket on Monday. The new east end grocery store, owned by local brothers Dr. Fouad Turfah and Kamal Turfah, is located off of Schaefer Road just north of Michigan Avenue. The Turfahs opened shop Monday to huge crowds hungry to get a taste of the city's newest market. "This represents a big turnaround," Mayor Jack O'Reilly said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. "It's clear that there's no need for concern. This building is going to be here for a long time and this business is offering something that really, everybody's been waiting for."
