WATCH: Dearborn Celebrates Students' Unifying City Sculptures
The Pockets of Perception Design Team–comprised of more than a dozen Dearborn students–showcased a year's worth of work Saturday with the unveiling of two sculptures they helped design, fund and build.
Several dozen Dearborn community members gathered Saturday at City Hall Park to celebrate the unveiling of two very unique pieces of art. The Pockets of Perception Design Team–comprised of 15 students from Dearborn High School, Edsel Ford High School and Fordson High School–spent more than a year of their free time developing designs for the two POP sculptures. They continued to provide input as fabricator Ken Thompson of Flatlanders Sculpture Supply used his skills to bring their designs to life as aluminum sculptures that will be on permanent display along Michigan Ave.–one in Dearborn City Hall Park and the other in the West Dearborn Pocket Park.
