A security alarm at 5 a.m. Sunday morning brought Dearborn police to small loan and cash advance business Advance America on Telegraph Road, which had fallen victim to two burglars only minutes before, according to a police report. While the resident had moved out of the Appoline residence a week prior, he frequented the house daily to prepare it for sale, he said. The responding officer saw no signs of forced entry in the home, but he did locate an unlocked window on the north side of the home, according to the report. We are fortunate to have a Dearborn Police dept that reacts in a timely fashion. I had a break-in in a warehouse in Detroit, sledge-hammered the door open, the neighbor said it made a racket for '20 minutes', but didn't bother to call the police, and I found out why. I dialed 911, mentioned my building door was bashed down, was pulling my piece to check the building and needed backup immediately…   more ›
