Animal Lovers Unite for Successful Shelter Fundraiser

Bowl-4-Animal Rescue, held Saturday in Farmington Hills, enjoyed its biggest turnout ever.

United We Stand. Sit. Stay. That was the universal theme of Saturday’s Bowl-4-Animal Rescue Fundraiser at Country Lanes in Farmington Hills. Animal lovers came in high-spirited droves to bowl, bid on epic prizes and join in a camaraderie sprinkled with visiting dogs needing homes. The sixth annual benefit for the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter and Michigan Animal Adoption Network was hosted by Aleta Sill and Michelle Mullen, co-owners of Aleta Sill’s Bowling World inside Country Lanes. As the most successful event yet, it netted more than $20,000, with all profits split between the two charities to keep needy animals alive, healthy and neutered. Bowling Fundraiser to Benefit Dearborn Animal Shelter

Champion bowlers Aleta Sill and Michelle Mullen will host the annual event Aug. 6 in Farmington.

If champion bowlers Aleta Sill and Michelle Mullen have anything to say about animals, it’s that they want them to have a better life. And they are about to launch into their sixth effort to make that a reality for Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter and the Michigan Animal Adoption Network. In just five years, they’ve raised $62,000 for the two organizations through their annual Bowl-4-Animal Rescue fundraiser, zeroing in on Dearborn because it was recommended by their own veterinarian, Dr. Cheryl Good of Dearborn Family Pet Care. And they plan to keep right on rolling with the event this year, which takes place Aug. 6 at Farmington Hills' Country Lanes.
