A police presence is always important , but in the case of this robbery, it would not have helped.…Read More If either of the victims had a pocket revolver, the results may have been different. The victim could have returned fire, and the robber could be dead.
Bad guys need to have a little fear instilled in them that their victims may retaliate. In Detroit, that fear is now there. Many Detroit residents are armed due to the lack of Detroit Police support, and what crook would want to take the chance of being shot by his victim.? It is easier to move to easier pickings like Dearborn. The simple pleasure of buying a burger and eating it in your car sitting in the fast food parking lot is often interrupted by folk knocking on the car windows for what , a handout, or robbery? Ignoring them often solves the issue, what if it doesn't? Calling 911 seems hardly appropriate. Nothing has really happened. A lot can happen in the police response time of a minute or two. In Detroit, that same response time could be hours , or even days. A glimpse or flash of a revolver does the trick, time to look for easier pickings or less hassle. In different times, the show of force may not have been necessary. No one really knows when those 'different times' are going to actually happen....better to be armed and safe, rather than sorry and perhaps dead. Not every shot misses it's mark......those victims were lucky the robber was a bad shot......next time, he may not miss.......

The full story on the drunk off-duty Dearborn police officer keeps evolving! Now we learn he drove…Read More without insurance! Wow, what next? The City of Dearborn, along with the Dearborn Police Department, sure are skilled at keeping information from the public. Maybe Chief Haddad should get an award for this?

This is the way the police department operates with Chief Haddad, and his right hand man Little…Read More Bill Leavens (they only tell you the portion of the story they want you to hear). The whole truth doesn't come out until the court hearing, or someone leaks it to the press. Reserve judgement against the officer until all the true facts come out, and not what Haddad and his puppet Leavens are telling the people.

"an accident involving a motorcycle and a car" That says it all. The car will win…Read More everytime, and more often than not, the motorcylist was probably in the right, and being 'deadright' sure does not make the outcome right. Further investigation will reveal if the car or cyclist was breaking any laws, and , if so, action should be taken appropriately to administer the law. Won't change the outcome, or bring back the dead.
Bottom line, my opinion.....If you are nuts enough to ride a motorcycle after 2PM with the drunks driving cars on the street, out of the bars, then you must be willing to accept the consequences of a 'lack of judgement'.
