Panera Cares is a non-profit community cafe that accepts payments in the form of donations. Each item on the menu is listed with a suggested donation amount. Panera Cares has patio seating, free Wi-Fi and a diverse menu that includes bagels, breads, baked goods, sandwiches and soups. Panera Cares in Dearborn has the same menu as Panera Bread and is the second Panera Cares location in the United States.

PS. Panera Cares has invested in bringing in Teenage kids from the Covenant House in Detroit. We are offering an internship for them and are giving them Job-Training skills. After a period of time and once they have fulfilled all the requirements of there internship Panera Cares will refer them to another Panera Bread for a job. This is a great opportunity for these kids and just another way of Panera Cares showing how much they CARE. Panera Bread does Care about the communities!
Panera cares is a cafe of shared responsibility. Panera Bread has given our community this cafe and we have accepted the challenge. There purpose of opening this cafe is to give a hand up to those in need. As Panera Cares plays the honest card with everyone who comes in there, they have proven that a majority of the people who walk into this cafe leave there fair share. Being a self sustained cafe means that all money that comes into that cafe stays right in this cafe to pay the bills (eletric,gas, food cost, pay employees, rent,etc) and does not go anywhere else. The suggest donation price is just the value of what ever you have ordered, it does not exceed that and they do not ask for more. If you choose to leave more it goes to that next person that may need a hand up that day! I have witnessed individuals and families come into Panera that have never had a "Panera Experience" order food leave what they could and enjoyed a panera meal just like everyone else. Everyone who comes into this cafe is treated equally and is treated well by all assoicates. If you make a 100,000 a year or if your homeless, people are able to experience the same as each other and enjoy a great Panera Meal! Walking into this cafe and knowing that all the money you choose to leave goes towards helping someone out is a great feeling. Even though Panera Cares helps those out in need within the cafe, they also donate all the left over bakery items every night to homeless shelters and food pantries!
