Though it faces the main street, the M & M Cafe is barely visible from the hustle and bustle of Michigan Avenue. While the restaurant is on the small side, its reputation is not. There is NO other restaurant that even comes close to their consistent excellence.
The food, the owners and the staff are all top notch.
M & M could easily serve as a mentorship training ground for "restauranteurs" on what to do RIGHT!

If you crave good and healthy food, wonderful soups, fresh vegetables and salads, great service, reasonable prices, and friendly atmosphere; this is the place for you. I have been patronizing this cafe almost every day for over 20 years, and I can tell you this is the best restaurant in Dearborn. The owners are Maurice (he is Lebanese) and Elaine (she is Polish/Italian). That alone should tell you about the great fare and the size of portions to expect. You will not only be treated as a valued customer, but accepted as friend and family. Just check out the photos of families and friends posted at the register to see how much this place is loved by so many people. After one or two visits, Elaine will know your name, and what you like or don't like on your salad. This is truly a bachelor's paradise. Although Maurice is Lebanese, he makes a classic American cheeseburger to rival any American restaurant. Check out his speciality, the Maurice-Burger. Other favorites are Lemon Chicken (always served), and Grilled Whitefish (served late Thursday and all day Friday). You want comfort food? Check out the Meat Loaf Dinner or Meat Loaf Sandwich on Thursday. I guarantee that after one visit, you will tell your friends and be back for more.
I absolutely love M&M Cafe'! I have been a regular for approx. 24 years now. And its true, if you want to go to a place where everyone knows your name, this is it! They are consistently excellent, the food is absolutely wonderful. It easily rivals mom's, no make that grandma's cooking. It is a true gem and right here in our hometown. How lucky is that?
I'm giving this place 4 stars ONLY because they don't serve Italian bread with their tomato, feta cheese salad. I LOVE this salad. It's fresh and something you won't see in any other restaurant. Everything everyone says about them is true; they will recognize you after a few visits, they remember your favorites, and their food is top notch. NEVER a disappointment. Just remember - and this is a big one. It's cash only.
