Old Car Festival, Yoga Open House Top Weekend Events Around Dearborn
Here's a look at five events happening in and around Dearborn this weekend.
The first week of school is soon to be in the history books. Before heading out with friends and family this weekend, take a look at some fun events happening in or around Dearborn.
1. Dearborn theatre showcase
The Dearborn Area Theatre Association will launch the 2013 season with its show "Random Acts of Theatre" scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Michael A. Guido Theater at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. For tickets, call 313-943-2354 or purchase online at www.dearborntheater.com.
2. UM-Dearborn alumni golf outing
The University of Michigan-Dearborn hockey team is hosting an alumni golf outing on Sunday at Dearborn Hills Golf Course. The event will begin with continental breakfast at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at noon. All of the proceeds from the golf outing will benefit the University of Michigan-Dearbon Hockey Booster Club.
The cost for the outing is $100 per person and includes 18 holes with a cart, continental breakfast, hot dog at the turn, a chicken or steak dinner, and a two-hour open beer and wine bar after golf. 4. Old Car Festival
This Old Car Festival weekend take in the spectacle as the streets and grounds of Greenfield Village are filled with the sights, sounds, and smells of hundreds of authentic vehicles from the 1890s through 1932. For the 61st year The Henry Ford will celebrate Henry Ford’s 150th birthday with a rare line-up of all the Ford “letter cars” from 1903 to 1932. The event takes place Saturday and Sunday. 5. Yoga Open House
The Yoga and Wellness Collective will have an open house on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Light snacks, drinks, and mini classes will be provided. The business is located at 21925 Garrison St.
