Detroit Fanfare Comic Con and More Happenings in Dearborn

Here's a look at five events happening in and around Dearborn this weekend.

It's almost the weekend, and that means we have your first look at five exciting events taking place around Dearborn. Before heading out with friends and family, take a look at some fun events happening in or around the community.

1. Detroit Fanfare Comic Con

Grab your cape and tights and head on over to the Detroit Fanfare Comic Con at the Adoba Hotel in Dearborn this weekend. Guests include: John DiMaggio (the voice of Bender the robot on Futurama), Tyler Mane (X-Men), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), and R2-D2 from Star Wars, among others. Tickets are $15 for a one-day pass, or $20 for the weekend pass. Tickets are available online.

2. Black Tie & Tails Fundraiser

The Dearborn Animal Shelter's annual Black Tie & Tails fundraiser will take place on Friday beginning at 7 p.m. at the The Dearborn Inn. For tickets and information, visit http://www.dearbornanimals.org/.

3. Dearborn Adult Ghost Hunt

The Dearborn Historical Museum Adult Ghost Hunt takes place on Friday. Motor City Ghost Hunters will be investigating the land formerly known as the "Detroit Arsenal at Dearbornville." There are two buildings on the property, the Mcfadden-Ross House and the Commandants Quarters that patrons will have the pleasure of investigating.

The investigation will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight. The cost is $40.

4. Avatar: The Exhibition

James Cameron's "Avatar: The Exhibition" takes you on a dive deep into the world of Pandora and the making of this extraordinary film. Here is your opportunity to fully explore Pandora’s Na’vi inhabitants, the groundbreaking technology that brought the blockbuster film to life, and the creative inspiration that fueled it all. The exhibit is available at the Henry Ford Museum. For tickets, visit http://www.thehenryford.org/.

5. Halloween Weekends at Greenfield Village

This weekend is the last chance to see Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village. Tickets are $12.75 for members and $15 for non-members; children under two are free. Time slots are every half hour from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Purchase tickets online at www.thehenryford.org or call 313-982-6001.
