Back-to-School Wine Tasting and More This Weekend in Dearborn

Here's a look at five weekend events in the Dearborn area.

It's hard to believe the weekend is almost upon us again. Whether you are spending time with friends or family, check out these events going on around Dearborn.

1. Friday Nights in the Park

Come listen to the Beat Club, a Beatles tribute band, perform in Dearborn on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Bryant Library's Muirhead Plaza. The concert is free and open to the public.

2. Dearborn Dance Academy Open House

There will be an open house for new and prospective students at the Dearborn Dance Academy on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. The academy is located at 22023 West Outer Drive. Classes include ballet, jazz and hip-hop, tap, baton, gymnastics or zumba.

3. Back-to-School Wine Tasting and Shopping Tour

Domaine Detroit Brands LLC & The Mahogany Tasters will host a shopping tour on Saturday. Participants will enjoy a day trip to Uncle John's Cider Mill & Winery and Old Town in Lansing, and Tanger Outlet in Howell.

The group will leave from the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave., at 10 a.m. The cost is $40 per person and includes: round-trip motor coach wine tasting at Uncle John's Cider Mill & Winery (wine, cider, hard cider and apple vodka), and shopping stops in Old Town (Lansing) and Tanger Factory Outlet (Howell). 4. U.A.W. Local 600 75th Anniversary Open House

U.A.W. Local 600 will celebrate its 75th anniversary on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. A free day of family activities and tours of the Ford Rouge factory will be available. The U.A.W. Local 600 is located at 10550 Dix in Dearborn.

5. Farmers & Artisans Market

The Dearborn Farmers & Artisans Market is open on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is located near Michigan Avenue between Mason and Howard streets. Over 30 vendors sell only seasonal, Michigan produced farm products and goods.
