Snow Days, City Meetings and More This Week in Dearborn

Find out what's happening in Dearborn this week.

Here are five things to keep an eye out for as you go about your week in Dearborn.

Dearborn Schools Close for Snow:
-Dearborn Public Schools, Dearborn Early Learning Center, Everest Institute-Dearborn, Dearborn Academy and Sacred Heart will all be closed on Monday and Tuesday this week due to extreme weather and snow.

Henry Ford Community College, University of Michigan-Dearborn, Henry Ford Academy-Dearborn, and ITT Tech-Dearborn will all be closed on Monday.

Birds & Brews at Bailey's Pub:
-Calling all birders and nature lovers! Michigan Audubon's Executive Director, Jonathan Lutz, will be highlighting some of the exciting opportunities planned for birders in 2014 at this month's Birds & Brews event, held at Bailey's Pub & Grille in Dearborn. 

The presentation will feature photographs from some of Michigan's best nature photographers, as well as personal anecdotes from Lutz's time in the field.

Social hour begins at 6 p.m. in the private lounge and the presentation begins at 6:45 p.m. The event is free, but you must RSVP to shelleyupnorth@gmail.com to attend.

Yankee Air Museum Lecture Series at DHM:
-The Dearborn Historical Museum will host a lecture on the Yankee Air Museum this Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. The event is free and will take place at the McFadden Ross House in Dearborn. 

Committee of the Whole Meeting Thursday:
The Committee of the Whole will meet on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

DSO Performs Beethoven Piano Concerto in Dearborn:
-The Detroit Symphony Orchestra will present Beethoven's Piano Concerto at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center this Friday, Jan. 10, at 10:45 a.m. Tickets are $25 and will be general admission seating.
