1. Red Cross Blood Drive
The Henry Ford Community College Community Service Club will sponsor a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Oct. 21-22.
The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Oct. 21, and from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 22 in Room C-119 of the Student & Culinary Arts Center.

2. Third Annual Fall Festival
Michigan Chess Festival LLC is organizing the Third Annual Fall Festival on Oct. 23-27, at the Adoba Hotel in Dearborn. The tournament is open to players with FIDE titles, USCF over 2,199, FIDE over 2,100, and a limited number of talented junior players. 3. Understanding the Healthcare Marketplace
Learn how to sign up for health insurance through healthcare.gov on Oct. 23. An information session will take place at the Henry Ford Centennial Library from 6 to 7 p.m.
4. Black Tie and Tails fundraiser
The Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter’s popular Black Tie & Tails fundraiser will take place Friday, Oct. 25.
This year’s gala features a Roaring '20s theme to commemorate the Friends' 20 years of service to the city of Dearborn. The event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Dearborn Inn, 20301 Oakwood Blvd.

5. Haunted Halloween Family Party
Boys and ghouls of all ages are invited to celebrate a merry, not scary Halloween at the Arab American National Museum from 4-6:30 p.m. Oct. 26.
During Haunted Halloween, children can trick-or-treat in the museum galleries, enjoy autumn-themed crafts and games, and grab the mic for Kid Karaoke. Kids’ lunch is included in the ticket price; participate in the costume contest for the chance to win cool prizes.
