Christmas Eve Services, City Closings and More This Week in Dearborn

Here are five things to keep an eye out for as you go about your week in Dearborn.

Christmas Eve Church Services:

  • Guardian Lutheran Church & School in Dearborn will host a family church service on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m., and a candlelight service at 11 p.m., 24544 Cherry Hill Rd. There will also be a 10 a.m. worship on Christmas Day.
  • Christ Episcopal Church in Dearborn will host a family church service on Christmas Eve at 5:30 pm., and a candlelight church service on Christmas Eve at 11 p.m., 120 N Military St. There will also be a 10 a.m. worship on Christmas Day.

Trash Delayed for Christmas:
- Curbside trash and recycling pickup will be delayed one day starting on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, the city reported. Curbside pickup on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, will not be affected.

City Buildings Closed For the Holiday: 
- Dearborn City Hall, the libraries, 19th District Court, the Dearborn Ice Skating Center and the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center will all be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24; and Wednesday, Dec. 25.

Dearborn Public Schools Closed for Two Weeks:
-Dearborn Public Schools will be closed from Dec. 23, 2013, through Jan. 3, 2014, for winter break. Students will return to class on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.

DRHC Offering Free Memberships for the Holidays:
-The Dearborn Racquet and Health Club is offering complimentary memberships for the holidays from Dec. 26 through Dec. 31. Anyone interested can register in advance at the club, located at 2727 South Gulley in west Dearborn.
