Need a Job? Attend Dearborn's Career Expo on Friday
Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Dearborn.
It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in the Dearborn area to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch Calendar of Events.
1. Henry Ford Community College Career Expo
Henry Ford Community College's Office of Career Services will host the second annual career expo on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Student and Culinary Arts Center. To date, more than 44 employers have confirmed their attendance at the event. The expo is open to students and the general public.
2. Blockbuster Film Series
The Henry Ford Centennial Library will show Koran by Heart at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14. Every year, about 100 of Islam’s best young students from around the world come to Cairo for the International Holy Koran Competition. Koran by Heart follows three young scholars, a girl and two boys, as they compete against students who, in some instances, are nearly twice their age.
3. MOMS Club Halloween Party
The MOMS Club of Dearborn, a support group for stay-at-home and part-time working moms in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, is hosting a Halloween-themed open house event from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 17.
The event will be held at the Caroline Kennedy Library at 24590 George Ave. in Dearborn Heights. It is open to the public.

4. Food donations
The Fairlane Rotary Club is bringing volunteers, donors and anyone who believes in lifting a hand to help others in need, to package meals at the University of Michigan Dearborn from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 19. The group will be packaging food in Kochoss Hall in the student union building. Volunteers are needed.

5. Sweet Dreamzzz Fundraiser
Sweet Dreamzzz, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to improving children's health, well-being and academic performance by providing sleep education and bedtime essentials to economically disadvantaged students and their families, will host its annual “A Night to R.E.M.ember” fundraising event on Friday, Oct. 18 at The Henry Ford Museum. The evening will include a cocktail reception, sit-down dinner, silent and live auctions and more. Guests will be able to stroll throughout the museum.
