U.S. Peace Corps Seeks Volunteers in Dearborn

Prospective volunteers can meet with Peace Corps. members July 10 at the Henry Ford Centennial Library.

The U.S. Peace Corps is looking for a few good men and women to volunteer for humanitarian missons overseas.

Representatives from the Peace Corps will have an informational table set up at the Henry Ford Centennial Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 10. In addition, a representative from the Peace Corps will be participating in the library's "Groundbreaking Reads" program from noon to 1 p.m. Judy Torres will share her memories and stories about her Peace Corps experience.

The Peace Corps is filling assignment openings for 2014. Volunteers may apply online immediately for the best opportunity to match their skills with available programs.

Give Back and Get Back

In addition to making a difference for others, Peace Corps service comes with tangible benefits such as the opportunity to combine service with graduate school for credit/financial assistance; full health and dental coverage in service, as well as $7,425 upon service completion; increased job skills and employment potential; and special eligibility for federal jobs.
