Photo Gallery: Dearborn Kids Take a Trip to Safety Town

The annual Safety Town project, presented by Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis, teaches kids about fire, stranger, pet and personal safety.

Each year in Dearborn, the local Outer Drive chapter of the Kiwanis Club brings Safety Town to the city.

The two-week program, which ran June 13-23 at Dearborn's , teaches hundreds of young local children about being safe in every possible way. Kids learn about fire safety, strangers, pet care, bicycle safety, guns, traffic, water and drugs.

The program has been running nationwide since 1964, and in Dearborn for many years as well, thanks to the Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis Club. Instruction was provided by the , , DTE Energy, the Children's Hospital Trauma Center.
