Hogs 4 Dogs Fundraiser Returns to Silky's Aug. 23

The annual event raises funds for the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Calling all “hog” and dog lovers!

On Thursday, Aug. 23, from 4-9 p.m., Pat and Dan Kiernan, owners of are once again hosting a unique event to help rescues in the care of the Dearborn Animal Shelter. Taking place on the patio of , located at 21931 Michigan Avenue, in Dearborn (adjacent to Kiernan’s Steak House), all are welcome to check out the annual Hogs 4 Dogs fundraiser.

If you have a bike, ride it to the event; if you have a dog, bring him, too!

For music lovers, “Hound Dog” DJ Steve Miller will be mixing it live, with acoustic stylings provided by Dog Bone (George Nigosian and local musicians). The event will also include 50/50 raffles, a tin-can raffle, and door prizes.

Biker Bob's Harley-Davidson dealership of Taylor is also bringing their Harley simulator, where attendees can experience the thrill of the wind blowing in their hair without leaving the parking lot.

Tickets are $25, which includes food, beverages, and all-you-can-drink draft beer. Dogs gets into the patio area for free!

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Kiernan’s or Silky’s, or by calling 313-565-4260. They are also available at the Dearborn Animal Shelter, located at 2661 Greenfield Road, by calling the shelter at 313-943-2697, or online at www.DearbornAnimals.org.

Tickets are limited to 200, and organizers say that the event does usually sell out.
