Dearborn Relays for Less Cancer, More Birthdays

This year's Relay for Life raised nearly $70,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Dearborn's 24-hour-long Relay for Life was held Saturday through Sunday morning in front of the .

More than 50 teams raised funds for the American Cancer Society, with totals nearing $70,000 by Saturday evening.

Events, activities, demonstrations and contests were held all day and night. Highlights included performances by the Women's Ensemble and Arabic Music Ensemble, soccer and basketball games, face painting, karaoke, and the annual luminaria ceremony honoring survivors, lives lost to cancer and those currently fighting the disease.
