Dearborn Kiwanis Peanut Drive Runs Through Sunday

See a Kiwanian? Buy some peanuts to support their causes!

While you're out driving the streets of Dearborn this week, keep your eyes peeled: members of the Kiwanis Club of Dearborn will be out selling peanuts for their on Thursday, Sept. 6, through Sunday, Sept. 9.

Kiwanians will be posted at many major intersections throughout the city during daytime hours for this annual fundraiser. Recipients of the peanuts are asked to donate as much as they would like. Funds raised go to support a number of local nonprofits, including:

  • Special Days Camp for Children with Cancer
  • Penrickton Center for Blind Children
  • Children’s Miracle Network
  • Dearborn Senior Citizens Programs
  • Dearborn Symphony Children’s Concert
  • DeSales Camp for Deaf Children
  • Save Our Children
  • Dearborn Firefighters Burn Drive
  • Salvation Army Programs
  • Little League Baseball Programs
  • ACCESS Children's Programs
  • Goodfellows & Elks Christmas Programs
  • Girl & Boy Scouting Programs
  •  Michigan Military Moms
  •  Ronald McDonald House at Children’s Hospital
  • Animal Shelter & Rescue Programs
  • Dearborn Schools Video, Sports & Art Programs
  • Children’s Hospitals of Michigan
  • N.O.A.H. Bag Lunch Program for Homeless
  • Vista Maria Home for Girls
  • Red Cross of Southeast Michigan

"When you see our members in their Kiwanis caps and bright orange aprons on Sept. 6, 7, 8 and 9, please be generous with your donation," the Kiwanis Club said in a statement. "Your continued support is greatly appreciated by us and those who have benefited from your generosity."
