Michael Berry Career Center Spaghetti Dinner and Open House a Success

On Thursday, 3-14-13, the staff of the MBCC allowed parents and students to tour the center, learn about the college and career training they offer and meet the staff.

On Thursday, March 14, 2013, the staff of the Michael Berry Career Center opened their doors to the public to allow parents and students to tour the center, learn about the college and career training they offer and meet the staff.  While they were there, many of the guests took advantage of an excellent, home-cooked spaghetti dinner prepared by the culinary arts students at the MBCC as a fund raising and community service activity.

In addition to the staff, many current students volunteered their time to set up displays, guide parents through the building and share their experiences with visitors to the MBCC.  There were even a handful of alumni students who showed up to share stories of their success after high school.  The event was well attended and the response from parents and potential students was overwhelmingly positive.  “Wow, I didn’t even know the Dearborn Public Schools offered these kinds of programs” was a comment heard time and again during the evening.
