Directed by Valerie Haas, with music direction by Paul Abbott, “Kiss Me Kate” tells the tale of a divorced husband and wife who reunite to star in a musical version of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.” Add two debt-collecting gangsters, a case of mistaken identity, and two supporting cabaret cast members, and the stage is set for entertainment.

A list of lead, character and ensemble roles is available on the Guild website, www.playersguildofdearborn.org, with character ages, vocal audition selections and voice ranges for each role. Several ensemble roles will be featured dance roles.

Those who are cast begin rehearsals March 12, which run from 7 to 10 p.m. Mon. through Thur., with some Sunday afternoon rehearsals. Those auditioning must be available for April 27 tech week rehearsals. The cast will also perform at a Dearborn theater awards show May 20 and must attend a May 19 rehearsal.
