Polish Mass Part of 2013 Dearborn Homecoming Festivities

Here's a look at festival entertainment provided by the Polish League of American Veterans and the Italian American Fraternal Club.

Rev. Dariusz Stralkowski from Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Taylor will conduct a Polish mass on Sunday, Aug. 4 during the 2013 Dearborn Homecoming festival.

The mass will take place at 11 a.m. at the small pavilion south of the river at Ford Field Park. The public is welcome to attend the service.

Other activities planned by the Polish League of American Veterans Post 75 include the Polish Dukes (a four-piece Polish band) performing on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.; the Polish Tatry Dancers of Dearborn Heights performing from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday; and the Kielbasa Kings (five-piece Polish band) performing from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The Wally Duda Band will perform Polish music on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Italian American Fraternal Club Events

The Italian American Fraternal Club will host a bocci tournament at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Registration for the tournament is 6 p.m. on Friday at the large pavilion north of the Rouge River. 

Amici will perform traditional Italian music from 5 to 10 p.m. all three days of the festival weekend.
