Grab Your Rod, Bucket and Bait: It's Fishing Derby Time

Prizes will be offered for the most and the biggest fish caught in four age categories.

Camp Dearborn will host its 18th Derby, 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 8. 

Boys and girls between the ages of three and 15 are invited to take part in this 
The fishing competition will be broken into four age categories: three - five 
years old, six - eight years old, nine - 11 years old, and 12 - 15 years old. Prizes will be awarded in each age category for both the most fish caught and the biggest fish caught.

Children can enter the derby free of charge but must register upon arrival to 
compete in their age group. All the young fishermen are asked to bring their own rod, bucket and bait. 

The fishing derby is a popular family event and those planning to participate 
should arrive early. The first 100 children will receive a T-shirt. 

The 2014 Children’s Fishing Derby is sponsored primarily by Eppinger 
Manufacturing, the Dearborn Lions Club, Dearborn Police Charities, Dearborn Sausage Co., Eagle Claw and Times-Herald Newspapers. 

Each year, many more local establishments join to make it a memorable 
event for the children. This year’s supporting sponsors include Impressions Specialty Advertising, Plano Molding, Plastilite, and Uncle Ray’s Potato Chips. 
Prizes are sponsored by Children’s Garden, Gander Mountain, Dearborn Federal 
Savings Bank, Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department/Camp Dearborn, Dearborn

Camp Dearborn is a family-oriented recreational facility, owned and operated by 
the City of Dearborn, and open to the public. It is at 1700 General Motors Road, Milford,
