The 21st annual 'Salute To America' concert will take place July 3-6.

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) will celebrate the 21st anniversary of its classic family-friendly "Salute to America" concert on July 3-6.

Four nights of performances led by Maestro Leonard Slatkin will take place on the lawn at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and concerts beginning at 8:30 p.m. Attendees may bring blankets, picnic and lawn chairs to enjoy patriotic music, including "The Star Spangled Banner," "Armed Forces Medley" and other holiday tunes.

The metro Detroit tradition will continue as the 1st Michigan Colonial Fife and Drum Corps parade the concert grounds at 7 p.m. followed by a prelude concert featuring the River Raisin Ragtime Review at 7:30 p.m. The night’s festivities will conclude with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and a live display of cannon fire and fireworks.
