New to Homecoming is the Dearborn Community Tennis Association’s adult cardio tennis sessions from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday at the tennis courts. Participants must supply their own racquets.

Cardio tennis is a high energy fitness activity that combines the best features of the sport of tennis with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full body, calorie burning aerobic workout. Even people who aren’t tennis players can take advantage of the intense and unexpected workout.

The Dearborn Community Tennis Association is a partner organization with the Dearborn Recreation and Parks Department.

Festival attendees also can get their heart pounding before checking out the rides by joining in on the dance-like moves to the beat of Latin music with the Zumba fitness class from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Stage B.

Angela Donnellon, a certified instructor, will be leading the free one-hour Zumba class. Zumba classes are offered at The Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, and so you can try sample this activity at the festival and see if you would like to make it part of your regular fitness routine.
