The Week in Dearborn Sports: Oct. 17-23

Fordson will play for a high school football playoff berth at Monroe on Friday night.

For football team, it’s a simple yet tough task.

The Tractors must win at Monroe on Friday night in the high school football regular season’s final game to qualify for the state playoffs.

Otherwise, Fordson will have to hope they can squeak into the postseason with five wins.

Defeating Monroe will not be easy.

Though the Trojans have lost two straight games, they are 6-2 overall and have scored at least 21 points in every game this season.

While Fordson (5-3) has to play its way into the playoffs, rival earned a postseason berth last week.

The Pioneers (6-2) close out the regular season at home against Ann Arbor Skyline on Friday at 7 p.m.

Dearborn will learn its playoff opponent on Sunday night at 7 p.m. on Fox Sports Detroit’s selection show.

Meanwhile, (3-5) concludes its season at home against Garden City on Friday at 7 p.m., and (3-4) plays host to Detroit Consortium on Friday at 7 p.m.

Soccer

will compete in the district tournaments this week.
will play Garden City in the opening round on Monday at 7 p.m., and will host Lincoln Park on Monday at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Fordson opensat Livonia Churchill on Monday at 7 p.m., and Divine Child will host Riverview on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Cross Country

Dearborn, Fordson and Edsel Ford will compete in the Western Wayne Athletic Conference meet on Thursday at Nankin Mills in Westland.
