The Week Ahead in Dearborn Sports: Oct. 24-30

The start of football playoffs and one school's advance to soccer regionals will be the highlight of Dearborn sports this week.

Here's what's coming up in Dearborn sports this week:

Boys Soccer Regionals

After winning the district finals on Saturday against , 2-0, 's varsity soccer team will head to their regional match-up in Saline on Wednesday. The team is taking on Canton High, and the game begins at 7 p.m.

Both teams boast impressive records this season, but the Pioneers' commanding 19-3-1 record is hard to match. Canton comes in fresh off a double-overtime 3-1 win over Novi High School on Saturday.

The winner will advance to regional finals this Saturday at 1 p.m.

Football Playoffs

Two Dearborn varsity football teams made it to the playoffs this year–one with a comfortable 7-2 record and the other, with a skin-of-their-teeth 5-4 record.

But what makes this weekend's playoff match-up so great is that the former, Dearborn High, and the latter, , are cross-town rivals of the best variety. The two teams face off one more time this Friday at 7 p.m. at Dearborn High.

Last month, the teams that brought out hundreds of fans on both sides. After a that game, the Pioneers are looking to redeem themselves this weekend. The Tractors, on the other hand, are looking to regain the upper hand heading into post-season after a few tough losses.

Who will take home the win–and advance to the next round of playoffs? .

Cross Country Regionals

Dearborn's boys and girls cross-country teams will head to regionals this Saturday at Lake Erie Metro Park. The park is located at 32481 W. Jefferson in Brownstown.

Dearborn High, Edsel Ford, , the and the Henry Ford Academy will all face off against a multitude of teams in their respective districts. The girls teams will run in waves from 8-11:30 a.m., while the boys teams will run from 12:15-2:30 p.m.

Finals qualifiers will be notified by Nov. 1.
