The Week Ahead in Dearborn Sports: Jan. 17-22

This week, some of Dearborn's best sporting competitions will be taking place in Dearborn Heights instead.

Several local teams will head to big tournaments this week, while others will keep plowing through their regular seasons in hopes for chances at state championships.

All-Area Wrestling Tournament

, , and will join Robichaud, Crestwood and host Dearborn Heights Annapolis for the annual All-Area Wrestling Tournament this Saturday.

Matches begin at 9 a.m., with finals in the afternoon.

, Divine Child edged runner-up Fordson for the championship in the tournament. Edsel Ford placed third.

However, this year's teams could change things up–especially with Edsel Ford's winning streak this season, including a 40-38 win against the Pioneers on Jan. 11.

Wayne County Bowling Tournament

Divine Child's boys and girls bowling teams will face off this week against other area teams in the seventh annual Wayne County Bowling Tournament on Saturday.

The tournament takes place at Cherry Hill Lanes, located at 300 N. Inkster Road in Dearborn Heights. Games start at 9:15 a.m. Trophies will be awarded to the top two varsity boys and girls teams, top JV teams, as well as the top three high game and high series winners in both varsity and JV.

Admission for attendees is $4.
