The Week Ahead in Dearborn Sports: Dec. 26-Jan. 1

Hoops teams head to the Guido Showcase, while wrestling teams head to local tournaments.

The fifth annual Guido Showcase basketball tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday at and high schools, honoring former Dearborn Mayor Michael Guido, who passed away in 2006 of pancreatic cancer.

The tournament raises funds each year for the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Guido's honor. Tickets are $5 per day and admit attendees to the whole day's games.

All four Dearborn schools will play, as well as Dearborn Heights Crestwood, Melvindale, Dearborn Heights Robichaud, Novi Catholic Central and Inkster High. Varsity games will take place at Fordson, with girls playing on Monday and boys on Tuesday.
